Ted Moore retired after a 34-year career with one of Australia’s leading retailers, Coles Myer. He joined as a management trainee and progressed through store roles to become a Store Manager in 1974.
After being appointed trainee merchandise manager in 1979, he progressed through roles in the Victorian supermarket buying office and over the next 17 years served in the senior management roles of Merchandise Manager Queensland, National Merchandise Manager and State Manager NSW.
Ted returned to Coles National Office in 1994 as General Manager Buying and Distribution and later moved to Logistics for CML.
Before retiring, he established a Regulatory and External Affairs function for Coles Supermarkets and later a centre of excellence for Regulatory Affairs in CML.
During his retail career he represented Coles and the industry as a councillor and president of the Retail Traders Association of NSW and as a committee member of the Produce and Grocery Industry Code Administration Committee.
Ted joined the Board of Frontline Defence Services as Chairman in October, 2007.
